The Traditional Volume Twin-Screw Press

The beauty of this press is that it incorporates all the attractiveness of an historical twin-screw volume press but is portable by four people with two supplied timber bearers. It can be transported easily with all equipment in a standard pick up or 6' X 4' trailer.

As with conventional manual equipment of this type, the apples need first to be milled and a 'cheese' built up before pressing. This is a craft activity, producing delicious fresh-pressed juice at the rate of up to 400 litres per day, which can be retailed at a premium price. The press is an asset for any organiser of Apple Day or autumn craft events since it has such strong public appeal as well being capable of making a substantial return through the sale of apple juice.

The press is ideal for use in any number or contexts. It offers an added dimension to Apple Day celebrations when it can be used for communal pressings'. It can be used at 'Farmers' Markets' to provide freshly pressed juice for the public, or small orchard owners, hired out to interested parties or available simply as a community resource.
